The free zones were declared of National Interest in Uruguay, with the aim to promote the investments, to expand the exports and to increase the economic international integration.

It is a question of a free-trade zone and international industrialization monitored and controlled by the authorities Uruguayan and administered commercial by private businessmen, that, as International Bonded warehouses have sheds and lands

The wide range of possibilities and advantages that drinks to the industry, to the trade and to the international traffic, as well as the financial and exchange freedom that exists in Uruguay for many years, they turn her into an important center of distribution and manufacture.

Later some of the most common operations:

1. Storage, deposit, division of one or several items, reconditioning, selection, classification, exhibition, change of packings, modification of brands, labelling, reshipment, to third countries or to square, manipuleo direct of the consignees without interference of any type, fulfillment of temporary admissions, abandon or destruction.
   
   

2. Modification of the original turnover, change of the consignee, returnover, turnover for account and order of third.
   
   

3. Marketing, purchase and sale of goods, lease, presentation to licitations, auction, transfer, etc.
   
   

4. Modification of the goods, armed of kits, disarmed, ensamblado, mixes of raw materials, chemical substances and all kinds of products proceeding from an alone country or from different origins.
   
   

5. Manufacture trying raw materials or national goods, of third countries or of both, and enjoying authorization for the incorporation of foreign or national infrastructure (machinery, tools, technology and investments) free of any charge
   

6. Modifications of the origin if there transforms the merchandise joined relation to the produced good; there can be requested even the Certificate of ALADI's Uruguayan Origin or for third markets, but it is not possible to obtain the Certificate of Origin MERCOSUR, because the Duty-free zones of any country of the Common Market of the South were considered to be territories extra MERCOSUR.
   
   

7. Rendering of financial services, of computer science, professionals, repairs, maintenance, assurance and any other service related to the activities that develop in them.
